13 years! That's how many years we have been buying, and re-buying indoor basketball hoops for our boys. Not one has lasted more than a few months - until now. This hoop has a strong backboard and a sturdy metal rim. Now, the rim is not a break-away style, and I assume if there is a lot of pressure or hanging on the rim, the plexiglass-type backboard could crack and/or break. But as long as their slam dunks do not get too out of control, this should last for a good long time. Extra bonus is the rubber padding on the back of the hoop and on the top hooks that hang on the door. No scratches on my front door and minimal black scuff marks after hours and hours of use. I would recommend this product to any "serious" indoor hoops player, especially those who keep buying the nerf-type hoops. It looks good, plays good and keeps my boys, and their friends, entertained during the winter months when it is too snowy or cold for them to use their outdoor hoop.

I bought this for myself...and I am a 31 year old man...who likes to shoot some indoor hoops during the winter when its cold and there is nothing else to do. Anyway, I hard mounted this to my wall.....it is not set up for that so you need to take the door brackets off ...and you will need a drill, washers and some wood screws, a stud finder..etc. But this thing is sweet. It is like a real hoop and the thickness of the backboard doesnt matter. i have had 5 hoops before this and this is by far the best one. It will not break even with me taking 18 footers! The only downside is the ball seems a little heavy for the hoop. I am using the ball from my old hoop that is same size but lighter material....than again, i bet it holds up to the heavy ball. Highly reccomended!

Received the box in perfect condition. I started putting the backboard and rim together but needed my husband's help when I attached the supports and poles. Directions were easy to follow and parts were easy to identify. It was relatively simple to assemble. After several bags of concrete and a few days setting time, it's a great basketball goal. Adjusting the height is very simple and easy. We lower it for our 6 yr old and raise it back up when my husband and I play. It's very sturdy and looks great. I play mostly outdoors on concrete. This ball has good grip and nice bounce but not too bouncy like rubber so you'll get the soft roll. I was a little disappointed, the backboard is pretty thin and the support bars that go from the pole to the plastic base and the screw-holes in the base themselves seem like they could easily break with time. I only paid $179 through Amazon directly, with no shipping charge . . . so for that price, I feel it was a good enough deal. If my son continues to play bball, I will upgrade to a much more study setup.

I AM VERY HAPPY WITH THE RIM/BACKBOARD. I used it to replace an older one I had on a portable stand. It was also a Huffy so everything fit perfect. The new one is a bit bigger and that helps keep the ball in play on errant shots. It also has the spring on the rim which is very strong. I would probably pull down the whole stand before the spring would give.

Let me just start this review out by making it clear that i am a huge basketball/NBA/WNBA/CBA fan. I picked up this basketball and started dribbling it. I was amazed at two things.

First of all, it bounces really high and you very rarely have to keep pumping it up like you do with some other basketballs. You can use it both outside/indoors although it is geared for more indoors then outdoors.

I bought this for myself...and I am a 31 year old man...who likes to shoot some indoor hoops during the winter when its cold and there is nothing else to do. Anyway, I hard mounted this to my wall.....it is not set up for that so you need to take the door brackets off ...and you will need a drill, washers and some wood screws, a stud finder..etc. But this thing is sweet.

It is like a real hoop and the thickness of the backboard doesnt matter. i have had 5 hoops before this and this is by far the best one. It will not break even with me taking 18 footers! The only downside is the ball seems a little heavy for the hoop. I am using the ball from my old hoop that is same size but lighter material....than again, i bet it holds up to the heavy ball. Highly reccomended!

This backboard and rim set is very nice, looks professional. Very sturdy, and well made. Amazon price beat MOs! And it was delivered to my home. Mounted it on my garage roof and now the kids can shoot hoops for and hour after school. The acrylic clear plastic does not block sunlight coming from behind, so it's unobtrusive.
